Motherhood is…

Motherhood is 3a.m., 4p.m., 12.a.m and all the times in between.
Motherhood is blood, sweat and tears, starting in the delivery room (and they don’t end there!)
Motherhood is up,
Motherhood is down,
Motherhood is scary, exciting, rewarding, draining.
Motherhood is one poop diaper after another,
Motherhood is sleepless nights that transition into tiresome mornings.
Motherhood is finally finding time for yourself and then thinking about your little one the entire time.
Motherhood is working from the moment you get up, till the moment your head rests on your pillow, but realize you’ve gotten absolutely nothing done.
Motherhood is mess after mess. Mess of food, tears, tantrums, poop, a mess physically, a mess emotionally.
Motherhood is what you dream about, what you’re most thankful for, and some days, what you have temporary second thoughts about.
Motherhood is rewarding in its own ways, in ways only you will know.
Motherhood is the toughest job any women will ever have, and no man will ever understand.
Motherhood is nine months of creating a home for your child, months of providing nutrients to raise you baby through breastfeeding, and your body and life is transformed forever.
Motherhood is a roller coaster.
Motherhood is a struggle, an achievement, an earned title, a job you never clock out of.
Motherhood is something that lasts a lifetime, for mothers who have lost their babies, who have miscarried, who have to suffer tragedies.
Motherhood is being proud, unconditional love, a blind date where you know you’ll love your date.
Motherhood is the journey that never truly ends.
Motherhood (not labor!) is the most rewarding, selfless and painful thing a woman will ever endure.

Once a mother, always a mother.

Motherhood is the most challenging experience in a unique and personal way. But you will love that child more than you could ever dream of.

This is for all the moms out there who will relate to every line of this post. Good job, mama. You’re doing great.
